About the program

What you'll work on

Key topics and competencies students will acquire and develop during their learning journey.

Machine Learning Algorithms

You will delve into the foundations of machine learning theory as you explore algorithms, models, and methodologies. Working with ML engineers to grasp the concepts that drive machine learning, from supervised to unsupervised learning. You will gain a solid theoretical grounding, setting the stage for practical implementation and innovation.

Mathematical Foundations of Machine Learning

You will delve deeper into the mathematical underpinnings of machine learning algorithms, delving into statistics, linear algebra, and optimization. Collaborate with experts to understand how algorithms are rooted in mathematical concepts. You will develop proficiency in translating mathematical principles into actionable insights, ready to implement in real-world projects.

Building Practical Machine Learning Models

You will elevate your skills by building machine learning models using Python. Working in teams on projects that span data collection, preprocessing, feature engineering, and model development. You will gain hands-on experience in coding and applying machine learning algorithms to real-world data, fostering a practical foundation for future projects.

Program Outline

Discover Your Weekly Program Journey

A 4-week roadmap to define each stage of a virtual work-experience program.

1
Week 1
Orientation Week

Get introduced to the program, your mentors, and AWS. You will learn how a tech business like AWS operates and begin preliminary research on the program project.

2
Week 2
Competence Week

You will obtain all the required skills to complete the project. Through a series of skills lectures you will get a fully immersive learning experience and all the adequate skills.

3
Week 3
Development Week

You are now equipped with the adequate skillset to complete the program. Applying your knowledge onto the project in the context of AWS and working as a team is the focus.

4
Week 4
Pitch Week

In your final week you will submit your project for mentor feedback. In the final night you will pitch your project and findings to AWS representatives and upon completion, receive a referral letter.
